history of alumni achievement awards

In 2018, under the guidance of then General Body Meeting coordinator Vanessa Fleury, the Black Alumni Association established a collection of awards to recognize black and brown alumni making strides in prominent fields (mostly centered around degrees that UNF provides). After countless nominations by the alumni base and hundreds of votes, the first Black Alumni Achievement Award recipients were announced and were given their awards at the Black Alumni General Body Meeting in the fall of 2018. We are happy to announce that the awards will be returning as will be the General Body Meeting in the fall of 2019.
